The Reef Playacar Beach Resort & Spa, Playa del Carmen

I had an amazing vacation at the resort! The atmosphere is vibrant and fun, with friendly staff who really make you feel at home. The activities were engaging, and the food was delicious, though I felt there could be even healthier choices available. Overall, it’s a fantastic place for a getaway, albeit a bit far from the airport.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at this hotel! The atmosphere felt like a cozy summer camp, with amazing service and delicious food. The location is perfect, just a short walk to the beach and 5th avenue. However, the only hiccup was a brief issue with hot water, but it was resolved quickly. Overall, it was a hidden gem that I hope to keep for myself, but I definitely want to return with my family.

My stay at the Reef Playacar was wonderful overall. The jungle setting created a relaxing atmosphere, and I truly appreciated the attentive service from the staff. However, our check-in experience wasn't ideal, and I had some concerns about the food temperature. The amenities like the spa and bars were highlights, and I found great value for the overall experience.

While the grounds were visually appealing and there were some enjoyable activities, the lack of attention to detail in housekeeping and service really dampened the experience. The food was just okay, and the upselling tactics were frustrating. I'd like to emphasize a couple of positives though – the bar area was nice for relaxation, and the fire show was fun to watch. Unfortunately, these positives didn't make up for the negatives.

However, I found the dining options disappointing and the check-in process confusing. While the facilities are nice, the service needs improvement, especially during busy times at the pool.
